Occupational Therapy Show
22nd - 23rd November
The Occupational Therapy Show promised to be an unmissable event for the UK occupational therapy profession and it did not disappoint! We met with an overwhelming number of people, eager to learn more about TextCare, so that they could help not only their patients and clients but their own families and friends too. We were absolutely delighted with the positive response that we received and were thrilled to meet so many wonderful people across the two days.
The 50 Plus Show
14th - 15th July
We had a fantastic time exhibiting at the 50+ Show at London Olympia. The two day event was designed to appeal to the interests of its many visitors, and focused on four key topics: Hobbies, Health, Crafts & Hobbies and Travel. It was a great pleasure to meet so many people throughout the two day event.
The Alzheimer's Show
9th - 10th June
We exhibited at the Alzheimer's Show in London and had a brilliant couple of days meeting people living with dementia, their carers and healthcare professionals. Taking place at Olympia London, the event featured practical workshops, informative presentations and talks, Q&A’s with dementia experts, professional advice clinics and dementia and care specialists, all in one place. Special guest Angela Rippon also made an appearance at the show.
The two-day event is the UK’s only live resource dedicated to providing information and advice as well as showcasing products to help those with dementia. Visitors had the opportunity to meet Admiral Nurses, who are specially trained to provide much-needed practical advice, attend seminars on a range of topics including coping with memory loss, challenging behaviour, Lasting Power of Attorney, how dementia affects family life and the latest research news.

Dementia 2017: Implementing better care
Kings House Conference Centre, Manchester
We exhibited at Dementia 2017: Implementing Better Care, which took place one year from the publication of the Challenge on Dementia 2020 Implementation Plan. It provided delegates with the opportunity to discuss the quality and consistency of dementia care across England, the initial outcomes of pilot programmes that have been created and the emerging innovations to ensure high standards of care and support for those with dementia and their families.
The TextCare team met a very friendly bunch during the day and were thrilled with the amount of positive comments and interest that was received from delegates who work with people who are living with dementia.
There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This will soar to 2 million by 2051. Risk reduction, health and care, awareness and social action, and research have been identified as the core themes that together would possible reduce these figures and make England the world-leader in dementia care.
For Later Life
QEII Conference Centre, London
We exhibited at the For Later Life Conference, organised by Age UK. The theme for the event was 'Creating a Culture of Wellbeing' and it attracted over 300 delegates. The TextCare team had a fantastic time at the Conference and were very pleased to meet so many new and interesting people. TextCare's home monitoring system proved very popular among the delegates, who thought it was an ideal solution for helping elderly people to remain living independently in their own homes.
The Conference looked at the variety of factors that come together to underpin wellbeing, including:
Levels of support and social connectedness
Housing and living arrangements
The capacity to participate and be valued
